Right now brave folk have put their lives on hold and their bodies on the forest front lines, this time in Bulga State Forest, a spectacular stronghold for our globally significant, wondrous and endangered Greater Glider.
The Minns Labor Government’s Forestry Corporation is trying to log this forest and the people are turning up each day to stop them. They are doing everything they can, including locking on to the massive machines, sitting in tripods and trees and getting arrested to try to stop this senseless extinction logging and protect what is left of our precious public forest estate.
At the same time an Independent Forest Panel has been established to look at the sustainability of logging our forests. So we are calling on the NSW Labor Government to place a moratorium over logging the public forest estate while this review is undertaken, to halt the harm and maintain the status quo. We know logging our precious public forest estate is unsustainable and must stop, because all of the evidence says so!
Send an email now to Premier Chris Minns, the Minister for the Environment and the Minister for Agriculture calling on them to place a moratorium over logging across the public native forest estate while the Independent Forest Panel undertakes its review into the sustainability of logging our precious public native forest estate.
Please do whatever you can to help the community to protect the Greater Gliders and beautiful Bulga Forest.
