Coal and gas is on the way out in NSW. 

A huge coal mine in New South Wales was blocked by the Supreme Court of Appeal, and for the first time a judge ruled that the NSW government has to consider the impacts of all emissions on communities here at home - including emissions that we ship off to be burnt overseas. This significant legal breakthrough gives the grassroots activists who have been fighting fossil fuels more power than ever to keep coal and gas in the ground. 

AND we saw the International Court of Justice rule that Australia is responsible under international law for the impacts of its emissions - and the UN Chief has told Labor PM Anthony Albanese that he must lower emissions. 

Coal and gas are on the way out, regardless of whether the Labor-Liberal duopoly and their fossil fuel donors like it. State and federal Labor governments need to stop approving MORE coal and gas, and start supporting communities to transition to cheap and publicly-owned renewables. 

The EPA has just released guidelines requiring coal and gas polluters to increase transparency on their emissions, and they’re asking for submissions. 

Coal and gas corporations will be making submissions asking for less transparency, exemptions, and loopholes so they can avoid actually reducing emissions - and we have to stop them.
