After more than a decade of community campaigning and constant pressure from the Greens, the Great Koala National Park is finally before Parliament. This is an extraordinary victory for our forests, wildlife and the communities who have fought so hard to protect them.
We have stood alongside those communities throughout this campaign, and we will support the legislation to establish the park.
But we have an opportunity to make it even better.
The Minns Labor Government have excluded important areas of koala and other threatened species habitat from the proposed national park, including parts of Pine Creek and Tuckers Nob State Forests that are critical to connecting existing national parks.
These forests form part of the Forest Bridge, a vital wildlife corridor connecting coastal koala habitat in Bongil Bongil National Park with the protected forests of the hinterland.
We will be moving amendments in Parliament to secure stronger protections for the Forest Bridge, including permanent reservation of critical habitat and protections against logging while other areas are assessed for inclusion.
We know how much damage has already been done to these forests while the Government delayed their protection. We cannot afford to lose more.
Help us win the strongest protections
We need your help to convince the Premier and NSW Government Ministers to support our amendments that strengthen and expand the Great Koala National Park, including protecting the critical Forest Bridge corridor in Pine Creek and Tuckers Nob State Forests.
Use our one-click email form to contact the Government, and please take a few minutes to call their offices directly.

In particular, ask them to support the permanent protection of the Forest Bridge, or at least stop logging in these critical forests while they are assessed for inclusion in the national park.
Every call and email helps demonstrate the community's determination to make this the best Great Koala National Park possible.
