INVASIVE SPECIES CONTROL WEBINAR
Please join Sue Higginson and an incredible panel for a tough conversation about ending the extinction crisis.
Australia’s native wildlife and wild places are being ravaged by invasive species that just don’t belong here.
Foxes, cats, cane toads, deer, pigs along with many insects were introduced through human activity over the past two centuries with no real understanding of the catastrophic damage they would wreak on an environment that evolved to withstand existing threats over thousands of years.
We didn’t cause it, but we know it’s driving the worst extinction records in the world.
Panellists include:
Richard Swain, Ambassador of Invasive Species Council
Dr Carol Booth, Policy Director for Invasive Species Council
Bridie Armour, founder and owner of Pets for Planet
Cr Dr Mila Kasby, Veterinarian and Greens Councillor - Hills Shire
Cr Miranda Korzy, Greens Councillor - Northern Beaches
So what do we do? What is our duty as the Greens NSW to ensure we reverse this extinction spiral?
Join us as we delve into the ethics of invasive species control and the price we pay if we choose to look away and take the easy road of ‘learning to live with’ these invasive species while they continue to kill native wildlife every hour of the day and night, every day of the year.
